Which God Do You Serve?

Prayer

"...Before Me no other God was formed; nor will there be one after Me. I, even I, am the Lord and apart from Me there is no Savior." (Isaiah 43:10-11.)

Throughout the world there are many different 'religions' and many different churches, each with its own particular set of doctrinal beliefs. If you study these different sects you will find that because of these different beliefs, each has a different god.

You will see that rather than conforming their lives and beliefs to fit the standard and pattern of holiness which the one true God has set down for us in His Word, they have tried to twist and mold Him to fit their concept of Him. But the God of the Bible, the One who created all things, the only God, has graphically and graciously portrayed Himself in His Word so that we might be able to recognize and know Him. Moreover, He sent His Holy Spirit to "lead us into all truth."

There should be no dispute about who God really is. No doubt should enter anyone's mind as to the true nature of God. If one cannot recognize God from the scriptures, it is because he does not really want to. I would venture to say that virtually every misconception of God stems from unbalanced and improper teaching, (taking scriptures out of context.) The Bible says, "My people perish for lack of knowledge..." (Hosea 4:6.) God clearly warns us in His Word that living on anything but "every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" will produce only death.

Which god do you worship? Is your god the one who says it matters not whether you are in or out of sin, you are bound to end up in heaven if you do good to others, pay your bills on time, and attend church regularly? Jesus said, "You must be born again." (John 3:3.) You must become a NEW creation, the old must pass away. Maybe your god is the one who never speaks anything but 'bless me' messages, the one with the permissive will who tolerates iniquity in your heart and in His house. The Bible says, "Your iniquities have separated you from your God. Your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2.)

Dirty Laundry
Do you really think you can hide your dirty laundry from God?

Is your God the one who never has you rebuke the sinner in the church? Is he the god who overlooks the drinking, adultery, hatred, self-righteousness, covetousness and pride in those who claim to be His? Are you a disciple of the god who 'loves' people so much he will condone sin rather than offend someone? Do you gently chastise one who dares name the sin to the face of the sinners? How many times have you said it; "Brother, that's not love...", when one sent of the true God cries out publicly against sin? John the Baptist, Paul, Isaiah, Elijah, indeed, even Jesus Himself, could have been duly put in their places by one so righteous as you! But the scripture says, "Be holy for I am holy...," (1 Peter 1:16,) and, "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather EXPOSE THEM." (Ephesians 5:11.)

Is your god the great banker in the sky, the god who allows you to live in abundant prosperity while you burn incense to him and offer up cries of "give me more, give me more"? Is he the one who promises financial security and no troubles if you can just put together the right combination of words so you can force him to bless the greed and covetousness of your heart? The Bible calls this IDOLATRY and says, "Some people eager for money have wandered from the truth and pierced themselves with many griefs." (1 Timothy 6:10.)

"If you can be bought at any price, then God doesn't care about the price. He only cares that you can be bought."

ReligionMaybe your god is the one who says it makes no difference what or who you believe as long as you love one another. But scripture, speaking of Jesus says, "salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).

If the god you serve is one of these you serve a false god. For the true God is not Baptist, Methodist or even Pentecostal. He is not the white, middle class American, polyurethane god manufactured in the churches. He is a righteous God who detests iniquity... a holy God, demanding obedience...a gracious God, quick to forgive a truly repentant heart... a loving God who sent His Son to die that we might live. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the merciful God who allowed the Gentiles salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Prophets saw Him and fell at His feet as though dead.

Have you truly met Him? Has the 'old man' died and been left at the feet of Christ? If not, this is the hour to meet Him. These are the last minutes of time, the hour the Bride of Christ has longed for. This is the hour when God sits as a refiner of silver, the hour of the judgment of the church. Are you ready? Do not be deceived. One day soon you will no longer hear those who mock the ones who proclaim the hour of judgment, for God Himself has spoken it.

THIS IS THE HOUR!!!
ARE YOU READY?
