Your Last Fifteen Minutes
I
want to ask you something. Hundreds of thousands of people are going to die
tonight worldwide. Stop and think for a moment. You could be one of them.
"Unto every man is appointed a time to die; and then the judgment."
(Hebrews 9:27.)
Even now as you are reading this you could be having a slight pain in your
chest. There might be something happening in your body or brain that you are not
even aware of. You could have a heart attack or a brain hemorrhage before this
night is over. I want to show you how bound and blinded the devil has you
because even as you read these words, the thought has come, "not me, this will
never happen to me. Many people will die tonight, but not me."
The
Bible says, "where as ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your
life? It is a vapor, that appears for a little while, and then it vanishes."
(James 4:14.) You may think you are healthy right now and nothing can happen to
you, but it's not up to you; it's up to God. How do you know that today you
won't be hit by a car?
I ask you to pretend the next fifteen minutes are the last fifteen minutes of
your life. Those fifteen minutes are going to happen to you sometime and when
they are over, you will be dead. Someone is going to put a sheet over your face
and call an undertaker. The arrangements will be made. At the funeral home
people are going to look onto your cold, blank face, and your family will weep
and cry because you're gone. They will drive slowly to the cemetery with your
casket and put it in a hole in the ground. Your family will now break down and
weep uncontrollably as they begin to throw dirt over your casket. A tombstone
will be set. I want you to see it because it will have your name on it, the date
of your birth, and the date of your death - today's date. The people at the
cemetery will begin to leave. They will soon recover. Quite frankly, some may
even forget where you are buried.
Your fifteen minutes are going quickly, so let me get to the point. You are
dead and in the ground, the people have gone and they will soon forget, but
what about you? Where are you right now? What's happened to you? For the
word of the Lord says, "Unto every man is appointed a time to die; and then
the judgment." (Hebrews 9:27.) There are only two places you can go. If
you've done nothing at all, you qualify and you've prepared yourself for a place
called HELL! In order to go to hell you don't have to do anything. If you've
done nothing there are no two ways about it, YOU WILL BE IN HELL!
But, you don't have to go to hell because God HAS made a way, and I want to
share that way with you. You have only to do four very simple things:
#1:
Believe you are a sinner.
The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "all have sinned and fallen short of the
glory of God."
#2: Believe that you deserve to go to hell.
"The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23.) Now I want to give you the
good news.
#3: Believe that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sins.
The word of the Lord says, "But God commanded His love towards us in that
while you were yet a sinner Christ died for you." (Romans 5:8.) THE PRICE
HAS BEEN PAID, the way has been opened.
#4: Trust Jesus as your Savior.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
(Romans 10:13.)
Four simple things: believe you're a sinner; believe sinners deserve to go to
hell; believe Jesus died to pay for your sins; trust Jesus Christ as your
Savior.
Your fifteen minutes are just about up. I ask you to quickly decide right
now. Do you want to go heaven? You have only a few seconds. Get on your knees
right now and confess to God that you are a sinner. Don't waste any more time,
you may not have any more. Tell Him that you know you deserve to go to hell.
Thank Him that He has already paid the price when He sent His Son to die for
you. Right now, tell Him that you are sorry for your sins and ask Him to come
into your heart and save you. Trust Him; believe in Him. Jesus said, "I am
the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me."
(John 14:6.) He said accept and repent. Now is the hour to do that because these
fifteen minutes ARE GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU!
Your last fifteen minutes have already been recorded in heaven. I don't know
when they will be and neither do you. You have an opportunity to get ready
before they happen. I ask you - right now - to go before the Lord, because if
you don't, these words will echo in your mind for all eternity.
HIS LAST FEW...
Life was a game either we won or we lost,
Who would have thought he'd pay such a cost?
Alas there was fear in what we'd found,
Something to which we could not be bound.
Suddenly all our heads were filled with doubt,
As we desperately tried to find a way out.
So he gave up his will and his fight,
And as he died was blinded by an eternal light.
Now, by the grave of wrath we kneel,
And the silence is still so very real. Provided by:
