Isaiah 32:13-14
13On the land of my people will come up thorns and briers, Yes, on
all the happy homes in the joyous city; 14Because the palaces will be
forsaken, The bustling city will be deserted. The forts and towers will become
lairs forever, A joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks-- 15Until
the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful
field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest. 16 Then justice
will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
Here we can see the picture of the collapse .
13"On the land of my people will come up thorns and briers, Yes, on
all the happy homes in the joyous city; 14Because the palaces will be
forsaken, The bustling city will be deserted. The forts and towers will become
lairs forever, A joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks—"
But it is not forever. In verse 15 we may read :"Until the Spirit is poured
upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the
fruitful field is counted as a forest. " This collapse is not forever it is
"Until". Until what? "Until the Spirit is poured upon us"!!! And what will
happen then? "And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful
field is counted as a forest. " What a wonderful picture!
But why it is will happen? Why "wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the
fruitful field is counted as a forest." Because " the Spirit is poured upon us
from on high". Spirit "from on high" = Spirit of God. Outpouring of the Spirit
brings the life! Spirit gives life! I think we can see very clear that the life
to "the wilderness" gives the Spirit . Because of outpouring of the Spirit "…the
wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted as a
forest."
Lets read the verse 16:
" Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness remain in the
fruitful field."
You know, I think all of us want to see justice in "the wilderness". But let
me ask you, when " justice will dwell in the wilderness"? I think you know the
answer. Verse 15. When " the Spirit is poured upon us… and the wilderness
becomes a fruitful field …".
Would you like to see justice in the wilderness, would you like to see
justice may be in your country or your city? Pray for outpouring of the Holy
Spirit.
In Joel 2:28-29 we may read:
28 "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on
all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream
dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29And also on My
menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days." And
this has started about two thousand years ago after the Day of the Pentecost (
Acts 2 ).
In Acts 2: 16-18 Apostle Peter repeats this words and says " But this is what
was spoken by the prophet Joel: 'And it shall come to pass in the last days,
says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh,…"
Let me ask you "Are the last days still continue or finished ?" I think still
continue. All we know that last days still continue. Let me tell you this : "God
did not said " the last day " He said " the last days ", this is not one
particular day or only one specific moment this is the PERIOD. And "last days"
the period of history . And "Last days" still continue. And God still desiring
pour out His Spirit. He did not said that He will pour out His Spirit " on
Apostles " or "on early church disciples " He said I will pour out My Spirit on
ALL flesh. God wants pour out His Spirit on each generation of the "last days".
This do not belongs just to the early church or church when great men in women
of God lived. This promise of God belongs to each generation of people.
"Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations". (Ps.90:1)
So, we can pray for outpouring of the Spirit of God, and we need to pray
about this.
Lets read Is.35:1-7
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert
shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God. 3Strengthen
the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. 4Say to those who are
fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with
vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you." 5Then
the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be
unstopped. 6Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of
the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in
the desert. 7The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty
land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall
be grass with reeds and rushes.
Here the wonderful picture of revival. You know revival is beautiful: "…
blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and
singing." You know the revival is not drub existence "It shall blossom
abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be
given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of
the LORD, The excellency of our God. "
Let me ask you what "shall blossom abundantly" ? In verse 1 we read " The
wilderness and the wasteland…, And the desert …"
Lets read verse 3-4. 3Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the
feeble knees. 4Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do
not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you."
How often we are getting tired when we are waiting answers from God, waiting
for revival. But what God saying here: 3Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees. 4Say to those who are
fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! " let me ask you why we have to do
this? Why we have to "Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the
feeble knees." Is there any reason for this? Or we just dreamers and do not any
real hope. May be we just saying "Be strong, do not fear! " and lying to
ourselves. You know , we are not a dreamers and we have real hope, we are not
lying to ourselves.
In verse 4 we are reading: Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With
the recompense of God;
He will come and save you."
Your God will come! We are not just "Strengthening the weak hands" and
"saying "Be strong, do not fear!". We are waiting for living God , Who " will
come" and " save us". We have the real hope! We are not put trust in empty
things! We put trust in true promises of God! He will come and save us!
Lets read the verse 5-6: 5Then the eyes of the blind shall be
opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6Then the lame
shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. Let me ask you when it
will happen? Answer very simple – When God will come!
Lets read verse 6: "For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And
streams in the desert. " The word "for" very important here. It brings some
connection and helps us understand why " the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped." " For waters shall burst forth in
the wilderness, and streams in the desert." I think it is not necessary to
explain that very often in Bible the Holy Spirit calls "water".
In John 7:37-39 written: 37 On the last day, that great day of the
feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me
and drink. 38He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of
his heart will flow rivers of living water." 39But this He spoke
concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for
the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
In Rev.22:17: 17And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let
him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let
him take the water of life freely.
I think there is no any dumb who began to speak because of usual water or any
lame who began to walk because of usual water. Sure that here written about Holy
Spirit. What "waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the
desert." This is waters and streams of the Holy Spirit. This is not a small
brooklet these are streams.
And what will happen then? Verse 7: The parched ground shall become a pool,
and the thirsty land springs of water; …In the habitation of jackals, where each
lay, there shall be grass with reeds and rushes. Before it was " the wilderness
and the wasteland…, … the desert…" But now it is " a pool, … springs of water;
…" and "grass with reeds and rushes". And you know why it will happen. I think
we can see very clear again that revival and even justice depends on outpouring
of the Holy Spirit. There is no revival without outpouring. And we need this
outpouring. And we have to pray about this. Because " The effective, fervent
prayer of a righteous man avails much"! ( James 5:16 )
"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours" . He was not a man with Super
nature, he was a "man with a nature like ours". This words " with a nature like
ours" shows us that we can follow his example in the prayer and receive answers
from God as he received. Praise God!
So, " Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood
of Jesus, by a new and living way" " Let us therefore come boldly to the throne
of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time need" ( Heb.
10:19 ,Heb.4:16)
