Galatians 2 v 16:
Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus
Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified
by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no
one will be justified.
Romans 3 v 19 – 20:
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law,
so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law;
rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Acts 13 v 38 – 39:
"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness
of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is justified
from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.
Romans 3 v 21 – 28:
But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, to
which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes
through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that came through Christ Jesus. God presented
him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to
demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins
committed beforehand unpunished –he did it to demonstrate his justice at the
present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in
Jesus. Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of
observing the law? No, but on that faith. For we maintain that a man is
justified by faith apart from observing the law.
Romans 1 v 17:
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is
by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by
faith."
Romans 8 v 3 – 4:
For what the law was powerless to do in that is was weakened by the sinful
nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin
offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous
requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to
the sinful nature but according to the spirit.
Galatians 3 v 22 – 26:
But Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what
was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those
who believe. Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked
up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to
Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no
longer under the supervision of the law. You are all sons of God through faith
in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 7 v 18 – 19:
The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law
made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to
God.
Galatians 3 v 11:
Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will
live by faith."
Ephesians 2 v 8 – 9:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith –and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.
Titus 3 v 5 – 7:
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his
mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy
Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our savior, so
that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope
of eternal life.
Philippians 3 v 8 – 9:
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness
of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I
consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a
righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith
in Christ –the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.
Romans 10 v 4:
Christ is the end of the law so that there may righteousness for everyone who
believes.
Galatians 5 v 4 – 5, 6b:
You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you
have fallen away from grace. But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit
the righteousness for which we hope. The only thing that counts is faith
expressing itself through love.
